Quickbooks Desktop - Updating Permissions

Updating Permissions in Quickbooks Desktop

There are two ways to update permissions between Qfactor and Quickbooks Desktop file. If you are using Quickbooks Online, click here for instructions.

You must have admin login to Quickbooks to and be in single user mode, other users must be logged out.

Updating Permissions - Preferences

The first way is the simplest, go to the Edit menu in QBD,

select Preferences at the bottom of the pull down list.

Select Integrated Applications on the sidebar.

Company Preferences tab.

Highlight the Qfactor application and click on Properties.

BizWatt and Qfactor will not download Social Security Numbers or credit card information. We have no reason to.

Quickbooks put your employee payroll information behind the same security feature.

Qfactor reads your employee name and their pay rate so we can report on project costs based on who worked on the project.

For this reason, we need access to this area of data.

Click okay. Close of each screen.

Log out of Quickbooks and log back in. This will set the permissions in place for your session.

If this did not resolve issues you were having, then you may need to try the second method of updating by clicking here: Updating QWC file in Quickbooks
